Coming next

What we are building in Kanbell now, what is planned after, and what shipped recently. No dates unless the work is already under way.

This page lists what comes next in Kanbell. It moves as the work moves. Items under "Being built now" are in progress. Items under "Planned" are decided but not started, so they have no date.

Being built now

Agents on a VPS or another computer

Start an agent on a VPS or a remote machine over SSH, and keep everything a local session has: its state, its questions in the menu bar panel, the task board, and resume. No Kanbell server: everything goes through SSH. The agent keeps running on the remote machine when Kanbell closes. Expected in the coming weeks.

A new Overview

The Overview becomes a grid that fills the screen: two agents side by side, four in a 2 × 2 grid, and so on. It also opens inside the Kanbell window instead of a separate one.

Easier agent creation

Creating your own agents and teams takes fewer steps, with better starting points.

Planned

Windows

A native Windows version, for x64 and arm64.

Linear

Linear as a task source for the board, next to the local board, GitHub and GitLab.

Answer agents running on another Mac

See the agents of your other Mac in the menu bar panel and answer them from where you are.

Move and archive projects

Reorder projects in the sidebar and archive the ones you no longer use.

Your own themes

Write your own theme in a config file, on top of Kanbell, Ocean and Knight.

Shipped recently

Kanbell 1.4.5:

  • A Linux version, as a .deb for Ubuntu and Debian (Install on Linux).
  • App themes: Kanbell, Ocean and Knight, with system, light or dark colors.
  • The Focus view for Claude Code: the conversation and a message box over the terminal (Agents and subagents).
  • An image for each project.
  • Editing text files directly in the Files panel (Changes and files).
