Straight answers for developers running coding agents.
One question per article, as you would type it: parallel sessions, worktrees, agents waiting on you, usage limits. Each answer works without Kanbell first, with commands you can run today.
[01] Parallel agents
Can I run Codex CLI and Claude Code side by side?
Yes. Give each agent its own git worktree and terminal, share instructions through AGENTS.md, and set up waiting notifications in both CLIs.
Can I run Gemini CLI or Aider in parallel like Claude Code?
Yes. One git worktree and terminal per agent. Gemini CLI has an experimental --worktree flag and notifications; Aider has --notifications and auto-commits.
Do I need an account or cloud to run coding agents in parallel?
No. Parallel agents run locally in terminals and git worktrees. You only need each agent's provider account, and your code context still goes to it.
How can I see what Claude Code subagents are doing?
Use the subagent panel below the prompt, /tasks and Ctrl+O in the terminal, or read the transcripts Claude Code writes to ~/.claude/projects/.
How do I run multiple Claude Code agents in parallel?
Run each Claude Code session in its own git worktree with claude --worktree, one terminal tab each, or dispatch background sessions with claude agents.
How should I organize tasks for AI coding agents?
One task, one agent, one branch: write self-contained briefs with a check the agent can run, split work along file boundaries, plan first, review last.
What are the best tools for running multiple coding agents on Mac?
As of October 2026: agent view, cmux, Claude Squad, Conductor, Superset, Emdash, Nimbalyst, Sculptor and Kanbell, compared by approach, agents, platform.
What is the best way to manage multiple Claude Code sessions?
Name every session, isolate each in a worktree, and use one place that shows which session needs you: agent view, a terminal workspace, or a dedicated app.
What replaces Vibe Kanban now that it is sunsetting?
Vibe Kanban is now community maintained. Alternatives as of October 2026: Emdash, Conductor, Claude Squad, or git worktrees plus GitHub Issues.
What's the difference between Claude Code subagents and running multiple sessions?
Subagents are helpers inside one session that return a summary to it. Separate sessions are independent conversations you coordinate yourself.
[02] Git and worktrees
How do I review the diffs of several agents at once?
Give each agent its own branch, compare every branch to main with git diff --stat, read each diff in full, then test the branches merged together.
How do I stop Claude Code agents from overwriting each other's files?
Give each agent its own git worktree and branch, split tasks along file boundaries, and merge one branch at a time with tests on the merged result.
How do I use git worktrees with Claude Code?
Run claude --worktree <name> to start a session in .claude/worktrees/<name> on its own branch; add .worktreeinclude to copy .env files in.
Should I let Claude Code commit on its own?
Let Claude Code commit on its own branch, keep git push behind your approval with an ask rule, and review the commits before anything leaves your machine.
[03] Waiting agents and notifications
Can I get a macOS notification when Claude Code finishes or asks something?
Yes. Ghostty, Kitty and iTerm2 get desktop notifications by default; elsewhere, use preferredNotifChannel or a hook that runs osascript or afplay.
How do I know which Claude Code session is waiting for my input?
Use PermissionRequest, PreToolUse (AskUserQuestion) and Stop hooks that name the session's folder, or agent view for background sessions.
How do I stop getting permission prompts every few seconds in Claude Code?
Check your permission mode, pre-approve trusted commands with allow rules in settings.json, and use the sandbox's auto-allow mode. Bypass: containers only.
[04] Usage and limits
How do I check my Codex usage limits?
Check Codex usage limits on the usage dashboard, with /status or /usage in the CLI, or keep them in the footer with /statusline. What each shows.
How do I check my Claude Code usage limits?
Run /usage in Claude Code to see your session and weekly plan usage, or read the rate_limits fields in a status line script for a live readout.
How do I show Claude Code usage in the menu bar or status line?
Read rate_limits from the status line JSON to show session and weekly usage, then save it to a file a macOS menu bar tool like SwiftBar can display.
Why do I hit my Claude Code weekly limit so fast?
Every session, subagent and teammate sends its own requests with its full context. Long sessions, cache misses and heavy models drain the weekly limit.
[05] Tasks and GitHub Issues
Can I give Claude Code a task from a GitHub issue without copy-pasting?
Yes. Pass the issue as Claude Code's first prompt with gh: claude "$(gh issue view 123 --json title, body -q ...)". Or use a /fix-issue skill or @claude.
How do I connect Claude Code to GitHub Issues?
Install the gh CLI and let Claude Code read and write issues, add GitHub's MCP server, or install the GitHub Action so @claude in an issue starts a run.
How do I connect Claude Code to Trello?
Add Trello's official MCP server (https://mcp.trello.com/v1) with claude mcp add, then sign in with OAuth from /mcp, or use the claude.ai connector.
How do I put what Claude Code did back on the issue?
Have Claude Code write a summary file and post it with gh issue comment --body-file. Use --edit-last to update one comment instead of stacking new ones.
[06] Project notes and context
[07] Terminals and tmux
Do I need tmux to run several Claude Code sessions?
No. Tabs or splits in Ghostty or iTerm2 are enough. tmux adds detach and reattach; Claude Code's background sessions cover part of that (Oct. 2026).
How do I work on several projects with Claude Code at the same time?
Start one Claude Code session per repository in its directory, group terminals per project in windows or tmux sessions, and use claude agents to see all.
What is the best terminal for Claude Code on Mac?
Ghostty or iTerm2 for most people: Shift+Enter works, desktop notifications work by default, and both have tabs and splits. iTerm2 adds tmux integration.
