Changes & files
Review what your agents changed: Git status, diffs, history and branch, a file tree with previews, quick text edits, and Open in VS Code.
The Files and Git panel shows what the agent in the active session changed. You read the diffs, the history and the branch, browse the files, and fix a line by hand. Git is read-only in Kanbell: you commit with your agent or your usual tools.
Why it helps
When several agents work at once, you need to check their work before it goes further. Opening another app for each folder breaks the flow. The panel sits next to the terminal and follows the active session's folder, so the review is one shortcut away.
What you get
- Three tabs: Changes, History and Files, for the active session's folder.
- Git status, with staged and unstaged diffs.
- The commit log, with the diff of each commit.
- The branch and how far it is ahead or behind, in the status bar.
- A file tree with Git letters, and Show Hidden Items.
- Previews of Markdown, PDF and images.
- Editing of existing text files, inside the app.
- Open in VS Code for the project.
How it works
- Open the panel with
⌘5(Linux:Ctrl+Shift+5). Expand it with⌘⇧5(Linux:Ctrl+Shift+6). - Read Changes for the current diff, and History for past commits.
- Go straight to Files with
⌘⇧E(Linux:Ctrl+Shift+D). Click a file to preview it. - Edit a text file in place when a small fix is faster by hand.
- When the work is right, ask your agent to commit, or use your usual Git tools.
Works with
The panel reads the folder and its Git repository. It works the same whatever agent runs in the session: Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI or a shell.
Good to know
- Kanbell has no commit, stage, push or worktree features. It only reads Git.
- Editing works on existing text files. Kanbell warns you if the file changed on disk.
- Open in VS Code warns you if the project would run tasks automatically.
- The Git panel needs Git 2.45 or newer.
