Kanbell vs AgentsRoom: what's the difference?

AgentsRoom and Kanbell both put many coding agents in one desktop window. AgentsRoom goes wider: 17 providers, roles per agent, a worktree per agent, Windows, and phone apps, with a free tier. Kanbell stays closer to the terminal: real terminals sorted by project, the state of every session, a menu bar panel for the agents waiting on you, and a task board, with no account and no Kanbell server.

AgentsRoom facts come from its home page, pricing and compatibility pages, checked on November 5, 2026 (version 1.254.0 shown on the site).

Where AgentsRoom is better

  • More agents. 17 providers against Kanbell's three tracked agents.
  • Windows and phones. AgentsRoom runs on Windows and has iOS and Android companion apps. Kanbell has neither yet.
  • A free tier with no time limit. Two projects and six agents in parallel, free. Kanbell is free for 7 days only.
  • Worktrees and merge. AgentsRoom prepares a worktree per ticket or agent, with dependencies installed and .env copied, then lets you review, commit and merge from its Changes tab. Kanbell doesn't manage worktrees and its Git panel is read-only.
  • Extras. Agent roles, switching provider mid-conversation, moving work to another account when one hits its quota, and remote SSH for Codex too.

Where Kanbell is different

  • Real terminals, nothing in between. Each agent runs in its own terminal, in tabs and split panes, sorted by project.
  • A menu bar panel. The agents waiting for you are listed in the menu bar with their questions and permission requests, and ⌘⇧J jumps to the next one. See answer your agents.
  • GitLab and GitHub boards. A task board per project, local or synced with GitHub Issues or GitLab, self-hosted GitLab included. See connect GitHub and GitLab.
  • No account and no server. Kanbell talks to your agents locally; see data and privacy.
  • Files and search. Files in tabs and a project-wide search (⌘⇧F) beside the terminals.

Which one to choose

  • You use several providers, need Windows or a phone app, or want to start free: AgentsRoom.
  • You mainly use Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI on a Mac or Linux and want plain terminals, a menu bar panel and no account: Kanbell.

For the other options, see which app to manage several coding agents.
